What is the best pink digital camera?
If you want a pink digital camera then you've come to the right place! We've researched every piink digital camera we could find to come up with a list of the 3 best ones which will give you amazing shots every time!
Photos are a gateway into our past, a physical reminder of the good times, and a way to capture the beauty of the moment to enjoy for years to come, but choosing a camera can be a pain! There are so many different options to choose from, and so much technology they try and throw at you, that it is hard to know where to start, fortunately going for a pink digital camera means you rule out the complicated and bulky SLR cameras, so that narrows things down a bit.
In the end we chose a great Panasonic and a great Canon camera, which have loads of features but are great value for money, then we give a special mention to a more expensive but extremely high quality Sony camera, have a look at the reviews below:
Best value pink digital camera - Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS7 |
It was really hard to choose between this and the Canon for the 'best overall' place, but as this Lumix DMC-FS7 is only $139 (at the time of writing) and doesn't include an optical viewfinder, then we decided this was better off in the 'best value' place instead, but both cameras are great quality with a similar spec so you should be happy with either.
The first thing you notice about the Lumix is the colour! It is a very bright pink, which some people will like and others won't. You get the standard sort of technology, face detection and optical image stabilising, plus you get the auto mode which takes the picture on the settings it thinks are best and stops you having to fuss around, perfect for that quick photo when you're having fun.
You also get a nice 4x digital zoom which is more than the Canon, so you can get a total of 16x zoom if you want it, and you get a nice touch with the LCD screen where it adjusts its brightness to compensate for the sunlight around you, helping you to see it better when the sun is beating down on you (although with the Canon you don't need that because you have the viewfinder).
So this is a great quality camera at a fantastic price!
Good points:
- Very pink!
- Optical image stabiliser to stop blurring
- 2.7 inch LCD and it adjusts LCD screen brightness to allow better viewing in sunlight
- 4 x optical zoom (with 4x digital zoom for 16x total zoom) and 10.1 megapixel resolution
- Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector and Face Detection
- Auto mode to adjust settings and take the best shot for you
Bad points:
- No optical view finder
- Not many reviews yet

Best overall pink digital camera - Canon PowerShot SD1200IS |
This is the Canon PowerShot SD1200IS and we think it is the best overall pink digital camera for the money. It is only $149 (at the time of writing) but you get Canon quality, all the technology you need to help you take a great picture, and you get the all important viewfinder... So why are we bleating on so much about this viewfinder?
Well if you have ever tried to take a picture by looking at the LCD screen on the back of a camera on a sunny day, then you'll know why you need one! You just can't see the picture you are going to be taking because the sun is reflecting off the screen. If you have a viewfinder then you have two choices, use the LCD screen when you can, or use the viewfinder when you can't (or use the viewfinder all the time if you prefer).
This camera has slightly less zoom than the Lumix, with only 12x maximum, but I think you do get slightly more tech behind the scenes helping you take a great picture, which makes up for that.
So this is another great camera for a great price and should last you well for years, but remember the back is not pink, just the front!
Good points:
- Optical viewfinder
- Optical image stabiliser to stop blurring
- Face detection timer to recognise when the person behind the camera gets into the shot
- 10 megapixel resolution
- Scene-recognition Technology, Face Detection Technology, Intelligent Contrast Correction
- Auto mode to adjust settings and take the best shot for you
- Uses SD cards or MMC
Bad points:
- Only 3 x optical zoom making for a total of 12x zoom
- Back of the camera is not pink and quite dull
- Only has a 2.5 inch LCD

Special Mention - Sony Cybershot DSC-W350 |
This Sony Cybershot pink digital camera didn't make the grade because it is just shy of $200 at the moment, but we wanted to give it a special mention for people who don't mind paying a bit more for a higher quality camera. We love Sony quality, especially when it comes to TVs and digital cameras, and this camera does not disappoint.
It is a gorgeous looking camera, very classy, but you also get a top quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens to help you take the best quality pictures you can. Plus you get smile shutter technology which means you can focus on a person in the shot and have the camera take the picture when they smile, you can even set how much of a smile triggers the shot! That is perfect for taking shots of your kids who don't smile when you want them to so you always miss the best shots. You also get a feature where it takes two pictures in quick succession and then keeps the one where the subject isn't blinking - now that is smart technology!
You do only get 2x digital zoom with this camera, giving it the least zoom here with only a mximum of 8x zoom, but this camera focuses on giving you quality instead. You get all the same kind of tech as the others to help you take great shots including image stabilisation and an auto mode, but you don't get a viewfinder and you have to use Sony's proprietary Memory Stick Duo cards rather than SD cards. That is a pain as you can't borrow a card off someone with a non-Sony camera if you need to, but you do gets lots of features to make up for that (including the ability to record 720p HD video).
Good points:
- Optical image stabiliser to stop blurring
- 2.7 inch LCD
- 4 x optical zoom and 14.1 megapixel resolution
- Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens
- Smile Shutter Technology takes the picture automatically as the person in the photo smiles
- Anti-blink technology takes two pictures and keeps the one where the eyes are the most open
- Can record 720p HD video
- Intelligent Scene Recognition, Dynamic Range Optimizer, Face Detection Technology
- 'Easy shooting mode' gives you instructions on screen and adjusts the settings automatically to take the best shot for you
Bad points:
- No optical viewfinder
- Only 2x digital zoom so total maximum zoom is 8x
- Uses Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo Media not SD cards
